A few 'fictitious' words

While what constitutes a good short fictional piece has been debated and is continuing to be so in the contemporary literary world, one element that fascinates us is the feeling of incompletion despite an ending. The urge is not to be engaged by a conclusive narrative. It is a desire on the part of the reader to know more about the characters in the short story format. This has been the guiding principle in selecting these five 600 words (or less) exquisite short fictional pieces for our 4th “fiction only” literary “writing” party.

In these five short fiction pieces, the authors engage in different styles and techniques of writing. While one is a science-fiction, another is a rhyming prose. While one is a fantasy delving into theology, another captures the déjà vu narrative. There is also a specimen of a traditional narrative.

We hope you enjoy the full gamut of the fictional platter.

Best wishes
